both my daughters have cah.i took dex with my second daughter and am pleased i did.she is 19 months now and has only had afew hospital admissions compared to my 7 year old who seemed to be constantly there.she has needed no surgery and drs have said its very unlikely that she will.the only side affect i had was weight gain but it went as soon as she was born.hope this helps.
