I am a 24 year old female with 21-hydroxylase CAH. I live a completely normal life and I am quite happy, however my only situtation is my weight. Obviously most with CAH have a weight problem, but my concern is how is it controlled? Over the years I have been up and down with my weight. I did get to one point where I succesfully lost about 5 stone over a short period of time. My endocrinologist at the time did not find any reason to change my dose and I was on 32.5mg at night and 10mg in the morning (hydrocortisone). My weight maintained and all was well. Ever since I have moved to the UK my specialist has continued to decrease my dose. I am now on 10mg in the morning and 15mg at night (hydrocortisone) and because of this I have the most difficult time in losing weight. Is it possible that my body works the opposite way and requires a higher dose to maintain weight loss. I have never had such a hard time losing weight in my life up until now. I eat extremely healthy, I go to the gym 4 times a week and I am even on Reductil, which isn't that necessary since I don't have a big appetite. I have just recently had an all day blood profile taken to check my hormone levels as well. Are there any answers for me, please help.
