re: medical treatment of cah Mar. 31st, 2005 6:20pm
My son is now three. When we friat found out that he had CAH he was week old. I got a call from they doctor that I need to bring him in to be tested. The town I lived in was a hour away from were the test was to be done. Well I took him in they did the test. We had some other shpping to do. By the time I got the doctor was on the phone with my father-in-law talking about if they were going to call the law or not to find us. My son was that sick! I took him to Walsenburg who Hospital is known as a bandage hospital, witch is about 15 mins. from were I live. We get to the hospital. We tell them that we were told to bring him in. They asked what was wrong with him. I told them that the fight for life from Deaver,Colorado was on there way. When we were waitting they were giving him sugar water. When the team land the had to bring them to the hospital, they got the amblusice stuck out at the airport. So then the had to send another amblusice to get them. After the team landed it took them 30mins to get to the hospital. After the got to the hospital it took what seam like a life time to get him read to go. We then get to the plane. They explane that it will take about 30 to 45mins. to get to the hospital. On the way I'm asked to fill out paper work. When we get to Cildren's Hospital. They take my son up to the room they have read for him. Here were about ten people waiting for him. The team is going over all the paper work they had to fill out. They hooked him up to all these different things. About 30mins. later I was told that Icould com in to the room. I scard to death, not know what was going on. Being all alone. It took my husband four hour to get to the hospital. Final the next morning I see the doctor. Dr.Sharon Zemel she expale that he was real sick with cah. She told me that he was 17% below brith wight. Then she brouth me some paper work that told me everthing that I need to know about cah.
