-Hi I had a bone scan done 2years ago because I read that steroids can cause bone loss. I suggested to my doctor I get one done and the doctore even questioned why because I was on such a low dose of steroids. But I said I have been on it for 12 years. Anyway, the end result was I did have bone loss! My doctor was in shock. Anyway now I take 1000 milligrams ofd calcium a day but I'm always nervous it won't be enough and I'll get osteoperosis. I hope I don't have to go on fosomax or something. I am young (30) but my bones always hurt especially in my hands and wrists and when the weather is bad. Ian is right go for a bone scan because steroids are linked to bone loss. If it happened to me it can happen to anyone. But what can you do I have no choice.
