Hi Andrew. I am 18 and have SWCAH. I understand how you feel as I often feel this way too and I do not think there are any easy answers. I was on pred for awhile and hated it, I hated the way I felt and I would never touch dex or pred again.  I am not sure if it was because I was on a high dose, also when my levels are out I feel lousy too.  How do you take your tablets? It is a real pain but I found taking smaller doses more often during the day, I felt much better. I am lucky to have a good relationship with my doc, (not that I like doctors in general)  and I talk to him about these things. I think it is because we have got to the stage where there is so much going on in life and I must admit I get a bit scared of the future, that no one will want a real relationship with me because I have CAH, not sure what career path I really want to follow and all that kind of stuff. CAH makes you feel different and it is a mind set thing. It does help to talk to people because often, people you would never think, have even bigger hangs up. If you are a girl with CAH, you kinda get offered counselling and that but as a boy our problems don't seem to be so obvious and if you are like me, I am not one to talk about things, whereas my sisters talk about everything all the time. Get your levels checked and ask to speak to someone, if your doc is not a nice guy then change. Some of these docs are so arrogant they don't listen, I am lucky to have one that does. I think depression is part of having CAH and it hits you at some point. Good luck. Brad.
Brad
