re: adults with no reduction Dec. 6th, 2006 3:20pm
I am a 27 year old CAH patient, who had the surgery and reduction at age 2, and then at age 13 another surgery to separate my bladder and vagina, and to enlargen the vaginal opening.
As far as I am concerned, this helped me to develop as normally as possible. I was raised with almost normal looking genitals, and had the freedom like any other girl to live (or not live) a sexual life. I chose to abstain from sex until marriage, for religious reasons. But have been intimate, and know that my surgeries did not as all affect my ability to have an orgasm. I know my genitals are a bit scarred--but I thank God, that my parents treated them, and raised me just like any other girl. In my view, that's the best thing they could do for my psychological health.
Best to you and your baby girl. My heart goes out. :)
