Hihi :-), I love living in the Netherlands, the Dutch are very down to earth and straight forward (okay, mayby sometimes a bit to much :-) ). The winters are not that cold (-5 dergree max, I think), sometimes there is snow and if we're lucky we can ice skate.
I'm sorry to heard your kid is in and out the hospital that often. But as far as I know the first 4-5 years are the worst.
