re: re: cah diagnosed 6 days old
May. 4th, 2007   1:43pm
Hi, I also have a 6 months old daughter who has CAH  (I live in Germany) and I can only tell you that not having a poo for up to 10 days is totally normal for babies, either ife they´re sick or not. And please please please do not let your children drink the pure salt because this can do a lot of damageto their stomach. How would you feel if you had to drink that stuff 5-6 times a day? As far as the op- I think you should give it some time (not in the first months having it done) because it is also about a very important function of the genitals- peeing and by babies this is all so small accidents can quickly happen and than you will end up with a CAH child who  cannot hold his/her flow for the rest of his/her life. My daughter has no vagina but she doesn´t need it for at least 15 -16 years. And her clitoris is not that big, so I should´t worry too much. I think we all should give it some time with the ops, because this is only making you crazy. It is enough that we have to keep in mind that anything can happen and it might be that no one is there to give our child the dosis he/she needs. kind regards, Diana´s mom.
