Hi Dee, The internet is an excellent source of info but can be quite frightening too! If you have LOCAH, it is a very mild form and some adults who are diagnosed do not need life time treatment but do require it to balance hormones in order to regulate periods in order to become pregnant. You really need to get a definate diagnosis asap. Whereabouts in the UK do you live? Which endocrinologist are you seeing? If under someone who is an expert in reproductive endocrinology, then there shouldn't be any need to go on a fertility waiting list as they should have the knowledge themselves to help you become pregnant As for losing weight, that is often part and parcel of polycystic ovaries and not easy without help. There are medications that can help you achieve this too, as well as the hair growth (metformin and spironolactone) that women with CAH often take.
Don't be afraid to make a nuisance of yourself, try and get an earlier appointment, as November does seem a long way off to live with the uncertainty. Explain your concerns and see if you can get the tests done any earlier.
