re: re: re: MedicAlert Emblems (UK) - Poor selection, where is there more?! Jul. 9th, 2007 10:00pm
At the recent UK Support Group conference, which was excellent, medic alerts were discussed by the person in charge of ambulance control for the UK (as far as I remember). What is most important is the wording on the bracelet and it was suggested that 'adrenal insufficiency hydrocortisone dependant' as the ambulance technicians would not recognise CAH and it takes time for them to contact medic alert. I would contact the support group or your endocrinologist for further info on this, as it seems in some areas of the UK, if the authorities know you have CAH, your doctor can make the service aware and they will administer the emergency shot. I am not sure about the different styles etc but my own thoughts are, the offical one is the most easily recognised.
