Abstract
Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced that due to the changes in manufacturing site of fludrocortisone tablets (Florinef), the following changes have been made to the appearance, excipients, storage, shelf life and pack sizes of Florinef tablets:
• The tablets have changed colour from pink to white • The tablets will be moving will now have to be stored in the fridge, between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius at all times • The shelf life has increased from 12 to 24 months • Erythrosine and industrial methylated spirits are no longer included as excipients; dibasic calcium and lactose anhydrous and monohydrate are specified as per the pharmacopoeia • The tablets will now be available in pack sizes of 100 instead of 56
