Continuous subcutaneous infusion of hydro ie pump
Jan. 20th, 2010   3:18am
hi i was wondering if anyone has knowledge of this alternative method of taking hydrocortisone. I am female and have swcah and was diagnosed at birth I have had a pretty rough time of it as more than likley other cah'ers have had. The sad thing is that I am 34 and only recently discovered these sites. Unfortunately when i was born they told my Mum to act stupid and say she didnt know what sex her baby was. This ignorance has pretty much lasted throughout my life as the family were told not to say anything about it. As a result of this it has taken me all these years to speak to my doctor about the ambiguous genitalia. I had surgury at a young age however i am extremely poorly controlled and as a result i have all the side effects that go with it i had corrective surgery two months ago under Prof Balen who is a fantastic surgeon so I am one step closer to "normality". However i have read about the pump method which seems to be allowing some people to lead heaalthy lives. Does anybody know if there is a age limit or any critera needed to be able to use this alternative? I apologise for my spelling and grammar but it is 3.20am thanks
Fran
