Ali sorry to hear about your current problems.

I can't make this long but briefly what jumps out at me is, a drop of a steroid dose by half is quite drastic. Was this done all in one reduction? If so then what seems to me to be a better way is to dose downwards gradually over a period of time, with regular blood level checks. When and if the levels remain good then another small dose reduction can happen. This gives the body/adrenal gland a chance to adjust to the smaller dose and challenges it to produce extra cortisol if it is capable of doing so.

Regarding weight - there is ample evidence that steroids alter carbohydrate metabolism. Carbohydrates are our ENEMY - lol! Cut them out - yes, easier said than done I know. Carbs are often the yummy things and it is a constant battle between what is bad and what is best.....until ones palate doesn't crave them anymore! Gosh I do sound like a regular old dragon; aint?

Megan
