I understand that research being published soon in book form by Dr. Katrina Karkazis will examine many of the issues I put forth along with the lies parents are told by doctors pretending the parents are the patient and the parents themselves pretending they are the patient when they are not. A simple quick reading of the posts by parents (and grandmothers) justifying clitoral mutilation will illustrate that...
You know Betsy I don't feel like any of the 5 doctors I spoke with lied to me. I know they didn't feel like they lied. Yes I am talking about the surgery I had for my CAH daughter! No Betsy I didn't think I was the patient I never pretended to be but I can tell you many sleepless nights I prayed to God I would have been. I also do not appreciate the comment that parents/grandparents justify clitoral mutilation! If I thought it was mutilation I would have never made that decision. You notice I used the word I because I did make the decision and I am very happy with the decision. I can tell you this my daughters well being was all I thought of while I was making the decision. I know you are going to come back with some comment about my last sentence like "You thought of you daughters well being when you took her rights away as a person and mutilated her clitoris" I am ready for anything you have! You could write all day until your brain exploded but your opinion doesn't mean S---! to me when you are degrading every parent/grandparent that has made the decision of surgery or debating surgery. If I sound bitter I don't mean to apologize whether the decision was right or wrong I never made it to harm my child in anyway. It disgust me when you use the word mutilate over and over! Maybe you have concentrated on hormonal and body issues so long you need the lobotomy!
