Martha Thank you very much for sharing most of our opinions about Betsy's cause. I do think she is good for fighting HER CAUSE. But at what expense? Betsy....... WHY are you ALWAYS tryingto convince Parents that there children are intersexed when they are not ? Why do you continue to push the word mutilate on the Parents that CHOOSE surgery for there Children? I use the word choose because this is what a Parent does. We make choices for our children until they are of legal age to do so for themselves. To subject a younger child or adolescent child to make a decision they have not fully grasped themselves yet I BELIEVE is only more confusing to a child/young adult. The first thing a child with a delimma such as this is going to do is ask there Mother...What would you do ? DUH? As you have stated over and over again You seem to be a major crusader for stopping unnecessary surgeries. Why don't you stop the hysterectomy's or appendectomy's that are performed very year. Why the MAJOR issue with genitals? It is OUR CHILDREN to do with or what or when we feel the need too for a BETTER LIFE FOR OUR CHILD. I personally did not want my Granddaughter to have the pressure of making this decision or at her dance recital having people gawk or stare or point to her body anatomy in her little pink tu tu. WRONG you say ....tsk tsk how many children have you had come to you crying because Johnny or Susie said there nose is too big or there ears stick out to far or why is that redspot (birthmark) on there face. Not many am sure ...because you are only interested in disgruntled adults that can boost your cause and your cause for lesbian rights. You can parade the streets of San Francisco to Hoboken and bottom line YOUR cause ONLY breeds confusion and contempt in a already unknown illness . Anyone who does not believe that these children are labeled the minute the DR. looks at them are only kidding thenselves and for you to continue to preach to the choir about leaving there bodies as is.......... makes you out of your realm on this issue. UNTIL you have a child and walk in our shoes and feel our emotions and KNOW our fears and experience our tears will you be a professional on this subject. All your studies and back up DRS. TV broadcast are slanted to fit your needs. Never with the thought of any compassion for a child. All you can think about is leaving things status quoa to to prove a point that YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE RIGHT. You do not interview children ... WHY ??? Because WE are the PARENTS and WE CHOOSE not to let them be subjected to peoples causes. This is called protecting our own and as long as I have an ounce of breath in MY body. YOU nor anyone else will convince me that my decision to have surgery for MY CHILD was wrong. Drs. telling lies again........ I think not. I think you are hearing what you want to hear and continue to spread your half truths to make the world believe our children are something they are not. This is based on my 35 years of studies being a Parent and Grandmother ! Sincerely Cherry Lane
