Re: Jessica's comment

Jessica,

You took the words right out of my mouth!  I too had to read it again because all of a sudden, it was mentioning about another condition yet NOT mentioning what it was.  It was misleading to the general public who from reading that, would have wrongly associated the other condition with CAH.  This is what REALLY annoys me, when people jump from one condition to another and somehow, CAH gets thrown in in the wrong places.  In my case, I have seen a program about intersex, talking about Kleinfelters and AIS, then suddenly, they are featuring CAH as an intersex condition (which I totally disagree with!).

It's all very well when people want to raise the profile of CAH (I have read on another board someone's comments about raising the awareness of CAH so that it will no longer be a taboo subject) but when the media gives out the wrong/ sensationalised meaning of the condition, this does more damage than ever.  If they can't get the facts correct, I'd rather they kept quiet!

Liz
