I'm happy to see someone that really wants to write : ) My first question is did she void through what she had? Which if she did and it's not just Besty's group, Have you looked at the ISNA medical page at all : ) these groups are asking for conseling first. There is an understanding about the medical need for period flow but where the issue is when should the surgery be.
One parent called me gross and it seems to me that when they write that someone born like me is a trauma to the parent it ain't no joke. Really it's sliced up so Mommy can stomach you and what you really were was so vile that had to be done it's OK I get it or at least I think I do. I have a degree in social work and try to see things from your eyes too. Maybe,You see the need for protection in your way about it. I don't think it's fair to show you the pictures like that but instead talk about if you find the surgery necessary at that time w/ the understanding that there may be more surgeries in the future plus that dialations may be needed but to show you a pathologized picture of a grown woman? You're being played.
There is an Intersex Clinic a the U of Mich now also and before you fume cah is used under that umbrella unless you all voice your opinions off this board, this word will be used ---heck I think Dr. Joyce brothers used it in an article.
If this was an enlarged clitoris that looked penis size and she was born with a vaginal opening underneath you could have intercourse that way and ummm even without that they could still have intercourse and yes "normal" men like to do that intercourse also. Men like things you would have no idea about. I dated a surgeon and you wouldn't believe the things the straight laced looking surgeon liked to do and his version of normal intercourse was his preferance over your idea some men are more into the booty side. ...it had nothing to do with me... or the cop I dated ended up with a beautiful woman that didn't have CAH and wasn't a woman to begin with either plus wasn't all interested in getting the second op done. I've had many straight men tell me they bi sexual or considered it and even though what I had CAH was nothing to do with sexuality it shows that people aren't taken back about someone born with genital diversity. Others that are completly straight and also really comfortable in their maleness know that it's a Titanic Clitoris and like the penis comes in many sizes. The guy I've posted about without CAH and the micro willy Women love him and don't look at what he has as a defect but just part of him. Maybe this does take more secure people? I don't know but it seems to me your shock/shame/digust is being put out on me where to when I've talked with men I haven't had the same reaction it's been that's different Cool ok ..want a beer (I don't drink much anymore) . I have thought about when I was ten commiting suicide because of the genital exams and because of the surgery even though w/ a period coming what else could of been done : ) and I think that type of depression is also found in any condition whereas you haveto find a way to work through it. Diabetes get depresses also. I'm a person that is rooting for the surgeries to be better.
lWhat you want for your own kid should be respected hands down. Even though CAH we are of course females and most Identify that way , I'm grateful that my parents and the U of Mich di wait a little to see yep even with this degree of virilization that yep OK ok go get Dr. Coran in the horn we are comfortable she leans in the female direction upstairs (mentally) also.
Why should i should I be "reconstructed" because you are all shocked? Sounds like a personal thing : ) please don't cut me up for it unless a looming medical need : P Did this women understand her picture was going to be used to shock parents? or was lead to believe it was for medical training?

A general question to all? What's first the adrenal gland function or the importance of having intercourse and bearing children and what clues do your kids pick up on first?
