I am going to have to say drugs and alchohol are pretty much abused these days by everyone. Young, old, troubled and not troubled. And of course look back to every era. Like the 70's whew! (if anyone from that era can remember the 70's!) and then you had the 80's when cocaine was a big "popular" drug. By the 90's I was out of that party zone loop and couldn't tell you what the drug of choice was then. NOT that I took it all when it was "in". But you knew about it. I went bar hopping alot in my young life. Had too much to drink, and paid foolishly for it. I drank a lot in my younger days. Could have easily turned to alcholism if I didn't have my faith to refocus myself. Alcholism is pretty popular in my family. I drank to celebrate and really drank to forget my problems. It wasn't until I matured and realized when the bottle was empty, my troubles were still full. So that concept of drinking to forget wasn't working out. Does CAH and it's negatives help bring someone to drink or take drugs to forget? Probably for most. Like any other problems in life we all face. Whether it be CAH or chronic pain, whatever is on the list of medical and mental problems, most think drugs and alchohol are easy fixes. Addiction hits all ages, races, high class people, rich people, poor people.... and the list goes on. We all have our crosses to carry. The difference is, the way you choose to carry them.
