Well duh, Hit me upside the head. I forgot to congratulate you for 3 years sober!!!!! Woo hoo! That is a huge achievement. The friend that I am trying to support through her depression as I type, is actually a recovering alcholic also. She has been sober for I think 10 years or more. She is actually a twin too. I met her through our county support group. She was given my number because her son was born with hypospadius (sp?) They had no idea what his sex was when he was born too. She was put in touch with me. They actually told her that he was a girl. Then retracted their answer. It was a God thing that we were put together. God works in amazing ways. I was still in my own lonely world of CAH when I met her. My faith on a scale of 1 to 10 was about a 1.1. I supported her through her son's surgeries and the entire shock of dealing with having them mis assign his sex like what happened to us. I have mentioned it before, it is like having twins and one dying. So I helped her through all that. A couple of years later she got me to go to our church renewal weekend. I went kicking and screaming. I was too bitter to talk to God I guess. Then after that weekend my faith grew until it exploded from my heart. Sorta like the Grinches heart when it grew. I have never been the same since. She literally saved my life getting me to attend that renewal. Here we are 5 years later and she is suffering through depression. She has four beautiful children. From a far it looks like a good life she has, but she suffers so bad from depression. I am going to that link and showing her it too. Thanks for that info. Aimee.
That fight or flight thing you were talking about. Did you read the last CARES newsletter? Didn't they mention that they observed that CAH patients lacked that adrenal part. It was like smaller. Gee I sound so intelligent. I misplaced my copy. Look and see. It was in that part that talked about getting that grant to do more research. I don't know if that helps. Very interesting. Take care.
