Betsy since you are referring to what I wrote - I would like to know what I said that was so wrong? I do not agree with your crusade at all, the surgeon actually mentioned the group of women from the USA, who were crusading to delay surgery until a child is old enough to decide.  It was also commented on by someone in the audience that the leader's surgery had been quite successful and discussion followed.  It is the same when interpreting papers written by medical profession, I am afraid that your interpretation is not always the same as they believe. I think that everyone understands the concept of waiting for surgery when the virilization is mild but Prada 5 or 6, which is what the slide depicted, needs looking into obviously carefully. Not all specialists are as callous and as uncaring as you think. An audience vote which included a lot of young and older woman who had had surgery showed that they all if given the choice would have the surgery before they were old enough to decide. Education about the seriousness of CAH is what the medical world need Betsy, to recognise the side effects, and to work for a better treatment, agreed a more sensitive way in working, such as physical examinations. Have you ever really considered the harm and hurt you may cause through your campaign? I do not think you have, as there was one young lady who said she would not have been able to deal with the embarrassment of surgery and says she thinks if she had been bullied and had to go through the surgery in her early teens  she would have taken an overdose.
