Needed clarification but the cross to bear you were talking about CAH in general right? as someone with any condition would? I have a sense that you might not even know what you looked liked before but the surgery done for me and it's OK that I may diss and vent about it ...I'm verbal and that's how I cope but when it comes down to it because of the extensive virilization the surgeries had to be done together. I read the surgical reports long ago and for the time period the results were good even with the bruising trauma that required a foley cathader being inserted for a month through the pelvic area which later on in life made a hysterectomy through the area for the cancer not an option. I've talked with my surgeon and ones of today about surgery and other things that you wouldn't believe. People that study medicine have pride in what they do in any time period and I have compared what was done to it looks like Ragady Ann and the stuffing is coming apart in reference to the scar looking like cat gut tissue that strangely enough fused back together after the radiation for the cancer and put off my idea of an upgrade in NYC but I've also called waht was done a butcher job in regard to the clitorectomy because that's the best Victorian age surgeons could do and they were one step above butchers Yes, it is a dig... Harvard? this was it? You suck! : ) but I also knew really by instinct that what I was born with couldn't serve me either and had the parents plus the of course excellent doctor that did his best to make my quality of life better which comes down to we have the knowledge of this adrenal conditon and what to do with it. I figure Victorian Doctors would be high fiving themselves over Educational knowledge. The vaginoplasty was as the one OBGYN/ONCOLOGIST put it exquisite and he smiled when I called the rest of it a butcher job but I would never like to call what was done mutilation or have to justify how the surgery was a cross to bear becasue that leads into they meant to do harm and I've worked hard Ok maybe not hard enough or maybe I'm not farther along the on that no surgeon/doctor goes to school all those years to harm anyone. Dr M. Dr. C and Dr. G really stood there and took my venting about all that and that made all the difference to me in dealing with the new thing which was the cancer and those are strong, strong men.
No surgeon set out to make your friend with no arms that way and she has achieved very much in life but it is kinda something that we tend to compare what was done to us "the surgery" with such examples like that or as a cross to bear. They did the surgery to correct the actions of an adrenal gland that's all folks but it also feels a personal attack because of the area. I think there is/was a lot of pride in how they feel what they are doing for us even though I can kick the can of c$#% why this genetic condition for me? among other genetic diseases and not conditions that are coming to light now. deep stuff i guess pity for myself nope and a really smart Endo once told me that if you were happy,happy all the time then something really would be wrong with you. There is a face we put on for others and then there is that other side that incompasses everything being the good, bad, ugly and grateful.

In one way or another I've always done fitness Competitive Horseback Riding, Swimming, power walking, a certain health club that feels as good as home and was wondering about other people? I liked that the guys wrote about BMX ..very cool
