One contraversal subject in cah is medical photography and the damage it causes sufferers to being naked in frount of a camera and having pictures of genitals being taken. This can have a huge impact on children as you can imagine.
One thing you all need to know. You have the right to refuse and distroy these images.
They are normally for educational basis which means they may be displayed to a classroom.
In rare conditions it is more common to have a full body shot done which does display the face of the sufferer.
As a nurse I have looked at endo books in the university library and they have medical pictures of cah in them including precocious puberty and ambigious genitalia. and full body snaps are in there including facial fitures as well. Some faces are blanked out but you need to know in some cases pictures are used in medical books etc.
Do some parents know these pics are used in Journals books etc?? probably not.
In the digital age now it is more easy to copy and send worldwide. And the pictures still go on regardless of so many medical archives etc. copies may go to students etc
You need to be aware of this as I believe it is now out of date and damageing and the procedure of taking medical photography on childrens genitals now has to be banned.
You have the right to view any medical image of yourself or your child. You have the right to withdraw consent even if you have signed the documents to say you have consented.
You have the right to a full explanation on what they will be used for. Any with held information is breaking the law.
