I am 35 years old with SWCAH. SWCAH is mainly about preventing adrenal insufficiency. LIFE or DEATH. I have had adrenal crises. That stuff is very serious. I have not had a sexual identity crises. People with CAH have sexual identity issues as often as people without CAH. Some studies say those with CAH have a tendency to play with "boy" things or do "boy" things. My thought is thank god there are girls, ladies, women out there ready to expand our role in what we can do. Next is the whole genital area. Some of those with CAH are born with a "hyperplasia" genital area. Some people without CAH are born with "hyperplasia" heads, ears, necks, fingers, legs, noses etc. Whether or not you are born with or without CAH and with an enlarged area of the body this does not make you any more or less male or female. I am also a hospital RN. I have yet to see that perfect body from head to toe. Thanks for the discussion
