Being a mother of two young SWCAH children, I whole heartedly welcome these types of comments. They are what help me decide how to best approach situations with my children by giving me a view of what their future might be like. We as parents try to do the best we can by our children but having input from those who have "been there, heard/done that" helps us make more educated choices.
