re: average dosage for infants
May. 13th, 2006   11:39am

Cortef and florinef doses depend on how much CAH mutation blocks enzyme production. This is found through blood testing of 17OH Progesterone, renin level and testosterone and some other tests. So, there is no exact amount of cortef and florinef for certain ages, it depends on clinical findings of the blood tests. Also, body surface area plays role in finding initial dose, after initial trials a dose range is established for individual and you go from there, up and down based on each set of blood test results. Talk to your doctor about it, and order the CAH book which is advertised at the top of main board as a banner. Hope this helps..
