Hi

I was wondering if I could get some clarity on what you said here "One problem seems to be however, that even when a treated CAH teen/adult may look quite 'good/normal' they can be/often are tempted to test the boundaries of compliance with medications and end up with permanent/longterm problems, such as hirsutism.

As directed by Mayo clinic when I was diagnoised at 5 with saltwasting CAH I took 25mg/day of cortisone religiously.  The doctors said that the hirsutism was just what happened to CAH women and there was nothing that could be done to stop it. I'm not trying to be inflammatory but what you seem to be saying is that it's my fault for having to shave everyday. I'm sorry if I misunderstood but this is what I've heard all my life is that who and what I am is my fault.

CC

PS Danny: I have read these boards and I see what this person is talking about. 98% of what is discussed is about parents and children which is good but for the adults who are single and older, we are dealing with the "aftermath" of ingorant doctors and some situations which were beyond our control as children. Please try to see that side of the story too
