Help?

Long story short: My mom tells me as a child I was not hairy. But now in my early 20's I have thick hair all over. She narrows it down to my taking of some sort of heavy topical steroid cream for several weeks to treat an intensely horrid case of "entire body rash" I acquired from a hot pink mushroom I discovered on the playground. (Tell the kids to stay away from those things!) After visiting several doctors, each with a unique opinion, I'm confused on what to do. Has anyone had success with medication with minute side affects??? I'd greatly appreciate thoughts on this...even if you're outside looking in.
