advice on changing from pred and hydro to dex
Feb. 11th, 2007   9:16pm

Hi

I have a 16 yr old son who was diagnosed with CAH at 6 wks old.

He has been on hydrocortisine most of his life and has changed to hydro in the morning and pred in the evenings, for the past 18 months.

His last blood test shows that the meds are not lasting, and his Dr is talking about changing him to dexamethasone. I don't know a lot about this medication and its side affects. Is there anyone who has been on hydro and pred and has changed to dex. Is there any side affects,do you have any suggestions.

Also what questions should i be asking my Dr.

I will be discussing this with his Dr in detail next week.

Looking forward to hearing from anyonr who may be able to give me any info.

Thanks Lisa

Lisa B. from Australia
