re: were going to have surgury Feb. 27th, 2007 1:13pm
I was thinking on and off about you and your situation. I thought of another thing. I know you have decided at the moment on surgery and I'm not trying to talk you out of it. I was thinking since you've made it this far waiting, doesISNA or Bodies like ours have a teen or young adult who's been through what your daughter has that she could talk to? I mean you need support and they should have someone. It might be hard to find specifically someone with CAH. If someone could say " yeah I remember going through that growing up, kids can be mean". If your daughter could hear that person say they grew up o.k., maybe it would help. I don't know if those groups only support not having surgery or if they continue to help families who have not chose surgery. She may still decide she wants to go ahead with the surgery, but maybe it could still help her emotionally talking to someone who's "been there" as a child.
