It has been a hard 7 years, Samantha will be fine - yes this condition is nobodies but every bodies fault - My Daughter is 16 now and if you read my post from the 5th March - I was a new user and your post was the first one I have ever read and it got to me because the operation was the start and the end of so much for us.
No more blame, if she wants it then you know what to do? as small as they are they know what they want and she has lived with the condition and everything that goes with it.
I wish you luck on this road because there are many to come and some are going to be rocky and others not as she grows she will take her own roads and you will have to stand by and watch her travel them. All we can do as parents is love, understand and guide - they days of making decisions on our own with our children are limited so always ask there opinion from the word go - it helps when you have to start letting go.
