This must be so hard for you. Herre you think you've got several years before having to deal with all this. My daughter will be 7 years old in April. She has not had any surgery either. She also has engorgement, usually at night or in the am. She has not questioned this happening to her. I tried to think of what I would do. I would try to explain to her what is happening. That blood is filling and that it is normal. I would even tell her that it helps her to feel good. I would keep it simple and in terms she can understand without going into too much detail and see if that explanation helps her. If she still was upset I would probably get her to some sort of counselor before we went ahead with surgery. Being that we are waiting on surgery to see what she wants, I would be worried of her making this decision before she understands the full ramifications. Good luck, I am thinking of you and hoping that it all works out. Julia
