The medications in these pills have some diuretic action. Because they are "potassium sparing" that means that potassium levels stay the same or rise. Potassium and Sodium are very delicately balanced in your body--- In people with salt-wasting CAH, the Potassium to Sodium ratio is already too high. Increasing the ratio with a "potassium sparing" medication isn't good.
