Three month old girl with CAH
May. 24th, 2007   9:46pm
I am a new mother with a three month old girl with Salt Wasting CAH. She was fortunate enough to not require any surgeries but I am completely unfamiliar with this condition. She is on treatment but I would appreciate any input on side effects to look for. I have difficulty differentiating between problems regarding her CAH or other normal infant problems. For example, she has had blood in her stool on and off for a while now as well as watery and mucussy stool. I have an appointment to see a gastroenterologist at the same hospital as her endocrinologist but that is still a few weeks away. She is taking hydorcortisone and florinef. She is acting like a normal healthy baby most of the time, but she also acted this way before she was diagnosed. Any input would help or tips on what to watch out for with her. Thanks.
Erin
