Dex definetely causes weight gain, and can cause Cushing sydrome-like symptoms. I decided to try dex again after about 15 years and I gained probably 25 or more pounds in about 2 months. I am going back on hydrocortisone and I will never go on dex again. I know a lot of people and endocrinologists prefer dex because it stays in your system longer, but in my own opinion cons outweigh the pros.
