I will turn 63 July 25 and have struggled all my adult life with CAH. I had a humiliating experience at 16 with my mother whom is still in denial. Needless to say I wasn't diagnosed until I was 20 and what a relief to find a name to the problems and concerns I had. I have been diagnosed 3 times at different hospitals, Oklahoma Osteopathic, St. Anthony's, and Scott-White without revealing diagnosis. I did marry, had two girls after 4 months of prayer and praise. The first was black and blue and hemorraging because 1/2 of cervix wouldnot dilute. The second was a 6 mo baby and came up from a 1lb 13 oz . Currently I take no medicine (because of increased side effects) except for during surgeries and stress related issues. I am also now a type II diabetic which really complicates things at times, but I take one day at a time. I so wish they had a place to talk to others as I had to struggle alone even in finding medical people whom were not afraid to treat me.
