re: re: how do i teach my child to talk freely to her friends about CAH Feb. 13th, 2008 4:16am
It seems iv stuck a cord with someone, just to let you know i dont make my girls tell anyone anything, we are a very open family and we do not hide anything and we would never let them go through life thinking this is a little secret, it is very important to remember that to explain CAH you do not have to tell them the nitty gritty and not all require corrective surgery i have one whom has and one who has not but are both severe it is up to my girls when they tell thier friends, as my 11 year old has many sleepovers its important these people are aware of her condition incase she is unwell all of a sudden, and when they see them taking tablets you cant ignore a childs question when they ask" why do they take them? " the quick answer we give them is "her tummy doesnt work properly" and there happy with that answer and move on. the only thing we force on our children is vegetables, and to respect others.
