Ah! The age old debate.

I think this is a puzzle that has no right or wrong answer, which is frustrating to many. I hope people can see all points made as valid and learn from them.

My eleven year old daughter had surgery as an infant and is currently scheduled with Dr. Rink because of bladder/kidney problems and to do her examination prior to puberty. She actually will be put to sleep, although she wouldn't think anything about a physical exam. I take her to my yearly (actually more like monthly since cervical cancer) exams all of the time. She believes it to be a normal part of a female's medical check-up. Because of people, like Aimee, I would not have agreed to any earlier physical exams if they would have been requested, but they never were.

However, there are many women who have been so carelessly scarred by surgery or check-ups, and we need to learn from the pain they feel. Otherwise, it would have been for nothing.

Aimee asked when we would come together over CAH, (I know not an exact quote) and I predict it won't happen until people on both sides stop making swooping generalizations, and realize each person and each case is different. There is no right answer.

Puzzling.

God Bless,

Katrina
