re: re: surgery check before puberty (question from Main Board)
Feb. 24th, 2008   3:27pm
so are you saying there is no need to check to see if past surgery has been successful before puberty hits?  How do I know everything is ok there? What I meant by saying putting her to sleep before the exam was to make it less traumatic.  I was told after her surgery that she wouldn't need to be seen until around puberty and that was just to check things are ok down there but it would be done under anaesthesia.  I know you think it's immoral to put her to sleep but I think it would be worse for her if she had to be checked without being put under.   Of course I don't want to put my daughter through all this if it doesn't need to be done. That's why I wanted to know if all girls who have had surgery need to be checked before puberty.
