My original post "puzzling" was to all of the other posters. You are the only person who responded to that post.
I realize there shouldn't be a controversy here. I just want everyone to be aware they need to consider the advice from people who have had this done, but also couple that with their own judgement and medical advice. They need to consider what is best for themselves or their daughters, understanding thier case isn't exactly like yours or anyone else for that matter.
Do you have an alternative I am unaware of for checking the vaginal opening? I would be happy to consider one if it exsists.
