Hi, thanks for your post, I have a 4 month old daughter who will be having surgery in approx 5 months time and it its a relief to hear from a person who has been through the surgeries and and doesnt wish that they hadnt had them done. My husband and I arent getting the surgeries performed to try and make our daughter "more normal" if there is such a thing, but to give her a vaginal opening so she can have her period and maybe have a sex life one day if thats what she chooses. We have decided not to allow surgery on her clitoris. We also plan to tell her everything and to answer any questions she may have as honestly and openly as we can. I cannot imagine what it is like for anyone with CAH who has been through surgeries and all those doctors checks, so in making any decicions involving surgeries/ doctors, I have tried to be very concious, of what my daughter would think/ tell us if she were older and could speak, and what effects it may have on her long term. I have been doing a lot of reading and research as well. Thanyou for letting me know that there are people out there who are ok with what has happened to them. And dont worry about what men will think about you- there is no such thing as 'normal' down there and the right man will love you for who you are regardless of what you look like or what medical conditions you have.
