Hi Truth,

I'm a little confused by your post because it actually sounds like the outcome of your surgery has been quite disastrous. Why is this better than you making a choice for your own body as an adult? I would be very angry if I were in your position!

Yes it could/would have been hard as a kid with unusual anatomy (I know that, I experienced that - but I survived and it made me stronger) and who sees it anyway when you are a kid? Now you still have unusual anatomy and very little function for the rest of your life unless you decide to have 'another' reconstruction and even then, clitoral sensation cannot be restored.

This decision was made for you, to make your genitalia conform to the dualistic sex/genital norms that our society dictates. Now sadly you have to live with the decisions that the adults in your life made on your behalf back then.

I hope that you can work your way through this.

Megan
