re: re: re: re: re: how do i teach my child to talk freely to her friends about CAH Mar. 11th, 2008 12:44am
Hi barbara,
we seem to be at the same age with two SWCAH girls my children are very open about CAH we have taught them its for thier own good that thier friends now but only if they ask i do believe our kids are growing up in different times to when we did kids are getting smarter quicker and are bombarded with horror stories on the t.v all the time, actually thanks to those adds about smoking my kids drove me to quit sometimes i think they are smarter then us, my girls friends do ask questions and im impressed when my daughter can answer them honestly and explain there condition in terms that her friends can understand, also when someone is diabetic and requires emergency care most people are aware of diabeties and nows what to do some day CAH will be the same if someone presents themselves to emergency saying they have CAH they to will no what to do but this will only occur if we come out and talk about it no-one i know has ever herd of CAH, i believe in educating our kids on just about everything and excepting who thay are and to not be embaressed. good luck with your girls.
