drinking with CAH?
Mar. 15th, 2008   1:32pm
Last night I drank a lot more beers than I'm used to and woke up with a horrible hangover. This is the first time I was this drunk so I do not have other hangover experiences to compare to, but I woke up very cold (even though it was not cold at all), extremely tired, and nauseous. I couldn't even hold in water and vomited a few times, so I had to receive a cortisol injection.

It was just like any other adrenal insufficiency "shock" episode with dehydration, but I've only had those due to stomach viruses or bad food.

Is it safe for me to drink? I mean obviously it's not safe for anyone to drink excessively, but I'm just wondering if my salt-wasting CAH will always create these episodes after drinking because I did not find my experience normal.

I was also thinking if the fact that I did not take my afternoon or night time medication before/after drinking might have had something to do with my bad experience?

Any advice/suggestions are welcome please

megan
