re: Any good news?!
Apr. 8th, 2008   4:02pm
The good news is that Dr Rink is well experienced and one of the absolute best to be doing the surgery. Surgical techniques have improved and changed greatly in the last decade so there is no real information out there about the projected outcome of current procedures because these girls are not old enough yet to have a sex life. My DD had complete reconstructive surgery 3 years ago, she looks like every other little girl now and she feels comfortable with her body. As a parent I will always worry about future emotional health and hope that when she grows up she will be able to have a comfortable satisfying sex life in whatever way she desires. I have confidence in her future as her surgeon tells me that she should have no problem with sensation and in all likelyhood will be able to conceive and be a mother herself some day. Without the surgery this would not have been possible. I'd say that the good news is that this is happening today and not 20 years ago. Feel confident with your decision as you are doing this out of love and concern.
