re: re: re: Mom never told me about surgery. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but thought i'd reply to this post as I am in a similar situation. There has very rarrely been any discussion in my house regarding CAH/surgery and the only real time its mentioned is when I see my endo every 4-6 months. I had surgery when I was very young but its really only through my own reading about it that i've learnt much. I haven't had any teenage follow up checks ('im 18 now) but I did have a few when I was a child and internally they did not find any 'problem' but I know that to have any sexual experience it would be to painful, if it was possible in the first place and this has been a pretty major reason why I have avoided dating and turned down most people who have ever asked me out, I just feel that it would be really hard (not to mention that I would personally find it embarassing) to discuss these issues with a partner, even though I know that if they really loved me they should be able to understand. I also think having a male gyno for anyone who is old enough to be embarassed about the situation isn't a good idea at all, if its possible there should be a choice.

Louise
