thank you so much for sharing your story.  i had a similar experience when Dani Michele was born but wasnt told one sex or the other.

the dr delivered her and said "It's uh uh uh a girl" and then said they werent sure and needed to take some tests to see if the baby were male or female.  i was laying there so confused and she said but dont worry the more important thing is the baby isnt breathing and there is something really bad happening that has nothing to do with the sex.  so we spent about a month in the NICU and i was finally allowed to fill out the birth certificate a few days before we were allowed to go home.
