It would be an ideal world if people didn't snicker and stare at others who are different. Men can be scathing and disgusting if women are less than their (the men's) feminised ideal. They use derogatory names like butch and dyke, whether they are or not.
I have been out for coffee with a couple of CAH women and the stares they got - like people were trying to fathom whether they were female or male, broke my heart. I knew these people identified as females and yet through no fault of their own they had to put up with this day after day.
One could argue that they could wear more feminine looking clothes and hairstyles and that would help....but that too may go against them just being themselves! It may make them feel false playing up the feminised side.
This is a complex condition - make no bones about it! Some girls get through looking quite feminine, others middle of the road feminine and others quite masculine. Many still identify as women even though they look masculine.
For somewhat perverse reasons I like the Barbie analogy - not so sure about the Ken though. Very few CAH women are up the Barbie end (thank God - personal opinion!), more are slipping along the scale towards the halfway mark with some slipping over the line towards masculinity.
So ME I do know and understand some of what you feel.
