re: MY GRANDSON WAS BORN WITH CHA Jun. 30th, 2006 12:02am
Hi Velma,
I am raising my Granddaughter who is diagnosed with saltwasting CAH. She was diagnosed at 13 months. We have had her since she was 5 months old as her Mother passed with cancer (my daughter in law) When we first heard of cah we were scared and so unsure of what to do. Thank God for Cares foundation and this support board to guide us through the education process. It is not the end of the world and please do not visualize this as being severely hard to care for. With the right treaatment and medication your Grandson will be OK. For now just be open minded Take lots of notes at the Doctors visits and enjoy your Grandson. It will get easier as time goes by.........BUT do NOT take this lightly as it is SERIOUS and can be dangerous. If you need to talk you can e-mail me. clane10407@aol.com I hope this puts you at ease somewhat!
