re: Mom in need of info

I have been on predisone for i would say the past 5 or so years. before that i was put on cortef for another 8 or so years.

I believe the med. is used to replace lost hormones or get ones body to make then and it alot of cases the person is on it for life. You were lucky that you found out early. My parents didn't know utill i was about 4 years old. From the beginning they knew there was something wrong and by the time i got diagnoses there was no way to really stop the disorder from getting worse and it took them a long time to control t (i had procous (sp?) puberty)

Growing up i had a hard time dealing with it because I knew i had to wear a med alert braclet, i was on daily med. and i knew it wasn't normal and being different is always confusing when growing up. I think you best thing to do is educate your son when he is growing up and let him know he really isn't different because up until about a month ago i didn't have any idea of what my condition was all about
