thankyou for repling. both my girls had surgery when they where about 6 months old. they are coping good with cah, it was alot harder when they were babies they would become very sick very fast in the mornings when they woke up. but it has gotten easier the older they get. i can tell the signs now when they are getting sick, and i will give the extra medication, and even a drink of cordial with some sugar put in it to get their sugar levels up and that will help. gastro is the worst and we have had some scary times when they have caught gastro. my kids are used to their medication now since they have been taking it since birth. i give my 12yr old finger pricks every 3 months and send it to their doctor to check her levels to make sure she is on the right dose for her medication. i also give them cortisone injections when they become ill, it is easier to have it home them going to the hospital to have them give the injections. i am use to them being sick and can normally handle it myself at home, it has been a long time since they had to go to the hospital for treatment when they get sick and my doctor is quite confident i can handle it, except for gastro, they need hospital care then. my 8 yr old is terrified of needles so that can be hard. has your son got salt losing cah? how old is he. does it run in your family, it does not run in mine. have you any other children. i live in australia
